Job Title: Associate Pastor of Youth

Position Overview:

The Associate Pastor of Youth at Clayton Baptist Church (CBC) will serve under the Senior Pastor to glorify God by making disciples of all nations until Jesus returns. This position requires the overseeing and developing of the youth ministry programs for middle school and high school students. This position requires a dynamic and engaging leader who can inspire and nurture the spiritual growth of young people within the church community. The Associate Pastor of Youth will work collaboratively with volunteers and parents to provide a holistic approach to youth ministry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, coordinate, and lead weekly youth group meetings, Bible studies, and worship services, ensuring they are relevant and engaging.
• Plan, organize, and oversee special events, retreats, and mission trips that align with the church’s vision for missions, evangelism and discipleship.
• Provide spiritual guidance, mentorship, and discipleship to youth, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
• Connect with the youth in the local school community
• Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers to support various youth ministry
• Collaborate with the senior pastor and church staff to integrate youth ministry into the broader church community.
• Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers to ensure alignment with family and church values.
• Stay informed on current trends and best practices in youth ministry and implement strategies to engage and connect with today’s youth.
• Manage the youth ministry budget and resources with fiscal responsibility
• Manage technology for the youth ministry and the church as needed
• Assist in preaching and teaching as needed to support the senior pastor
• Perform any duties assigned by the senior pastor

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in theology, ministry, or a related Seminary degree preferred.
• Previous experience in youth ministry or a related role
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Passionate about mentoring and guiding young people in their faith journey
• Ability to relate to and engage with middle and high school
• Must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ and support the church's mission and values.
• Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings and weekends
• Proficient in the use of technology and social media for ministry
• Must pass background check
• Be willing to move to and be involved in the local area
• Agree with and publicly support the Statement of Faith of the CBC constitution and the CBC By-Laws
• Willing to become a member of CBC
