Bi-Vocational and/or Interim Pastor

Southside Baptist Church in Blakely, Georgia is seeking a Bi-Vocational Pastor and/or Interim Pastor to lead our small / rural / older conservative congregation of believers in traditional worship. The Pastor as a Man of God is to study and preach God’s Word, to be a Godly leader, and to engage the congregation in God’s service and fellowship.

Southside Baptist Church has a desire to follow God’s leadership, to grow God’s Kingdom through membership and baptisms, to serve our community and church family, and to develop discipleship and missions opportunities. We believe that the Bible is God’s Word without error and the Pastor’s leadership and teachings should reflect such. We affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

Other General Qualifications, Responsibilities, and Information:

• Preferred Licensed and Ordained; Ministry experience and/or seminary-college education is encouraged but not required.
• Supply each Sunday morning and Wednesday evening (Sunday night services are not held at present); Secure replacements as needed
• Be available to assist with local church family and community outreach including hospital/home visits and pastoral care as needed
• Lead Church Counsel and Business Meetings as appropriate; Assist office staff with administrative duties as needed
• Provide leadership to other staff members
• A pastorium is available including weekend usage
• Bi-Vocational position with salary and benefits negotiated according to experience and availability.
