New Hope Baptist Church is seeking a Bi-Vocational Pastor who meets the Covenants of the Church. The pastor should be a person who has been led by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus as Savior and having upon profession of faith, has been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
The church seeks a person who with the aid of the Holy Spirit will walk together in Christian love; will strive for the advancement of the church in knowledge, holiness, and comfort, and will promote the prosperity and spirituaity of the church while sustaining its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines. Furthermore, a person is sought who will be just in the church's dealings; faithful in the engagements; exemplary in deportment while avoiding all tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger. A pastor is desired who will remember all in prayer, who will aid those in sickness and distress and will strive to cultivate Christian sympathy in feelings and courtesy in speech while engaging to watch over one another in brotherly and Christ-like love.
The duties of the pastor - as the preacher, to teach and proclaim the Gospel; as Pastor, to be the shepherd of the flock; as minister, to serve the people for Jesus' sake. He shall preside at the Lords Supper and baptize candidates for baptism. The Pastor shall be an ex-officio (non-voting) member of all committees of the church.
