Purpose of Position: The position of Traditional Worship Arts Pastor is to provide authentic expressions of worship that glorify God and encourage the body of Christ at Ingleside.

Reports to: Worship Arts Team Leader  

Relates Closely with: Worship Arts Team

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Traditional Worship Planning and Leading
    • Recruit, teach, and pastor chapel choir
    • Schedule and coordinate pianist, organist, and other instrumentalists for traditional worship
    • Coordinate and schedule all rehearsals for traditional worship
    • Select all choral and instrumental music for traditional worship (prelude, anthems, calls to worship, choral tags, postlude, etc.)
  1. Worship Arts Team
  • Vocal and instrumental arranging as needed and requested
  • Offer creative ways to enhance and encourage authentic worship
  • Purchase music, instruments, equipment, supplies as requested
  • Maintenance of instrumental equipment (i.e. regular organ and piano tunings, as well as periodic repair)
  • Provide budget information as requested
  1. Support and leadership as needed related to other services and events at Ingleside including but not limited to:
    • annual Senior Adult/Staff Thanksgiving worship service
    • Big Wednesday services
    • "Christmas at Ingleside" weekend
    • Christmas Eve
    • Easter weekendGeneral Ministry

  2. Other Ministry
  • Leadership at weddings and funerals as requested
  • Attend staff meetings and all staff training as requested (i.e. conferences, retreats, etc.)

 Primary Skills Necessary:

  1. Excellence in Vocal Performance
  2. Choir Conducting
  3. Good understanding of music theory
  4. Ability to recruit and work with teams
  5. Commitment to working with a worship leadership team in a multi-generational church
  6. Some knowledge of technology and software for music and worship

 Experience Requirements:

  1. Local Church Worship Leadership
  2. Building and Leading Choirs and Instrumentalists to lead with excellence.
  3. Formal music training and/or seminary training are preferred.

 

Time Required: 40+ hours per week (Sunday - Thursday)

Salary: Competitive for the role and commensurate with education and experience.
