The Communications Ministry Assistant will serve as the primary communications coordinator for the overall ministry of First Baptist Church Peachtree City. This role will also support the Executive Director of Operations and Communications. Responsibilities include:
? Working with the Executive Director of Operations and Communications to identify communications
needs and appropriate channels for communication
? Maintaining church-wide communications calendar - assisting to develop actionable communications
plans that support the church’s overall vision.
? Supporting the Communications team by tracking resources to ensure objectives are on-time
? Working with stakeholders to ensure communications objectives align with ministry goals
? Actively managing the distribution of content on the church website, mobile app, on-campus digital
signage, social media platforms, and ad-hoc print publications.
? Serving as the primary communications writer and coordinating with a team of volunteer copywriters.
? Providing assistance with administration, planning, scheduling, budget, and communication during
weekly office hours
The Communications Ministry Assistant is a part-time, 20-hour-per-week position starting at $15 per hour. The
weekly schedule will require 20 office hours per week, with occasional hours on evenings or weekends for
special events or other assigned ministry activities.
The Communications Ministry Assistant will work alongside the Executive Director of Operations and
? Develop a consistent communication strategy church-wide
? Assist in planning events throughout the year
? Provide assistance in expense tracking, budget preparation and reporting
? Keep website and social media platforms up to date
? Attend weekly Digital Ministries and Communications Team meetings
? Manage the ordering of supplies
? Triage technical support requests with third-party IT supplier
? A self-starter that is excited to say yes first, and has a great attitude
? Organized, self-motivated and excited about ministry
? Possess a highly developed level of communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills
? A degree in Journalism is preferred with 1-3 years managing communications for a company or non-profit
? Ability to write creatively for promotions
? Knowledge of social media platforms and strategies
? Proficient in office technology including Microsoft Office
? Demonstrated knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred, but not required
? Preferred knowledge of how to effectively use Church management systems
