Cornerstone Baptist Church is a growing, vibrant congregation located in beautiful Hartwell, GA. Our church is theologically conservative while being missionally relevant. We are committed to the BFM 2000. Our current service times are Sundays at 11 and Wednesdays at 7. We are preparing to launch an early morning service in August. Our staff consists of a Senior Pastor, Exec. Pastor, Worship Pastor, Children's Coordinator, and three secretaries. Our current long term Student Pastor is transitioning to parachurch ministry after serving 16 fruitful and faithful years on staff at Cornerstone. We are excited to see the man God is preparing for this position. Our average attendance on Sunday mornings is 300. The following job description, provides a general overview of the position. 

 

 

Student Pastor Job– Cornerstone Baptist Church

(6th -12th grade)

  1. Must be in full agreement with Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and a member in good standing of a local Southern Baptist Church. Applicants outside of doctrinal guidelines of the BFM 2000 will not be considered, as this is an ordained position.
  2. Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Youth Ministry or related field (or Associate's Degree and Bachelor's in progress)
  3. Must be ordained by a Southern Baptist Church or be qualified to be ordained by our church.
  4. Advise and organize leaders in the enlistment of Youth Ministry.
  5. Teach Youth Life Group on Sunday mornings. (Sunday School)
  6. Teach Youth Group on Wed. nights.
  7. Plan and conduct all special projects, events, etc. as pertaining to Youth.
  8. Provide leadership and supervision for youth volunteers, ensuring all volunteers have adequate training, and up to date background checks.
  9. Serve as an advisor, when appropriate, for other church programs and activities upon request.
  10. Provide guidance on security protocols pertaining to Youth Ministry.
  11. Create and maintain yearly budget for Youth Ministry.
  12. Assist in office when necessary.
  13. Conduct training programs for youth volunteers in proper relationship to the overall church.
  14. Coordinate with other ministerial staff to conduct pastoral visits, as necessary.
  15. Demonstrate a positive Christian image of the church to the community.
  16. Partner with Senior Pastor to engage new families.
  17. Develop a ministry that ensures students are connecting with one another & God while growing in Christian character.
  18. Secure volunteers to take your place if needed (as in the case of sickness or vacation).
  19. Conduct Pulpit Supply at the sole discretion of the Senior Pastor.
  20. Perform other duties and tasks as may be assigned by Senior Pastor.
