Colbert First Baptist is currently seeking full-time minister who is called to work with children to champion our Children's Ministry while overseeing and assisting our Missions Dept in an administrative manner. Below is an overview of the position.

The Associate Pastor of Families & Missions supports the mission of Colbert First Baptist Church by providing oversight and leadership to family discipleship ministries with a particular emphasis upon children and missions. Within CFBC's model of ministry, the Associate Pastor shall equip God’s people to do the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11-16). The Associate Pastor shall recruit, empower, and sustain ministry leaders and teams for all family and children’s ministries while overseeing programs in an administrative manner, plugging the Next Generation to missions as well. The Associate Pastor shall work alongside the Senior Pastor, and closely with leaders of the Sunday School, Men & Women ministries, Music Ministry, Youth Ministry and with other leaders who have been elected to direct various church programs, so that the ministry of the church may be strengthened.

The Associate Pastor of Families & Missions shall meet the Biblical qualifications of leadership set forth in I Timothy 3:1-7; have experience in local church leadership including preaching, teaching, and equipping for ministry; strong and growing in faith with theological depth and a passion for family discipleship ministry; and be aligned with the 2000 Southern Baptist Faith and Message as well as the Colbert Baptist Statement of Faith, Vision, Mission and Values. The Associate Pastor attributes shall include, but not be limited to being teachable, motivated, dependable, and relational.

The Associate Pastor shall develop a strategic and tactical plan for ministry to the family in keeping with the overall vision and mission of Colbert; recruit, train, encourage, and coordinate teams and volunteer leaders, empowering parents to be key partners in the discipleship of children and youth; plan specific opportunities for targeted discipleship growth for all Next Gen; ensure curriculum succession from nursery to college age; support an effective transition of children’s ministry from Elementary to Junior High to High School to College & Career; and work with other pastors on staff to implement on-going training and encouragement of parents.
