Position: Weekday Preschool Administrator FLSA - Non- Exempt

Please Note: This is a part time position that is not benefits eligible. The position will require 20 to 29 hours per week during the time the weekday preschool is in operation and approximately 4 additional weeks annually for planningThe compensation for the position is $18 per hour. Successful completion of a background check is required.

Reports to: Director of Children's and Preschool Ministries

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-time with no guarantees or implication that the position will lead to full time. Actual daily work hours may vary as needs vary, but generally the individual will need to be available an hour before thru an hour after the preschool operational hours during weekdays, and occasionally available for weekend and evening hours associated with ministry events and services.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The primary function of this position is to be responsible for the day-to-day oversight and operations of the First Baptist Church Duluth Weekday Preschool.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOther duties may be assigned.

  • Take leadership role while providing oversight and management to weekday preschool team. Directs monthly team meetings, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with church members and staff to insure a cohesive and positive work environment for the overall church.
  • Strive to promote positive relations with the outside community and prospective families to include advertising and promoting registration and preschool events.
  • Recruit, screen and hire teachers as needed for the preschool team.
  • Coordinate related budget and planning matters.
  • Perform teacher evaluations, coaching and training.
  • Routinely interact with children in the classroom and with the parents as well.
  • Adheres to state, local, and organizational safety protocols and is responsible to see that all preschool staff does the same; Stay abreast of all regulations related to operations of the preschool from a health and safety perspective.
  • Maintains accreditation standards and stay abreast of changes and best practices associated with accreditation.
  • Strive to keep classrooms and facilities neat and clean.
  • Maintain responsibility for other administrative matters as needed to include handbooks, etc.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESSupervises staff, students, and volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Qualified candidates must also have the desire and ability to work well in a diverse, multi-cultural environment. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or qualities desired:

  • Candidate must be a “born-again” Christian and provide testimony as such.
  • Servant leadership qualities desired with a heart for unity while working with a multi-cultural mix.
  • Display a passion for teaching youth in a Christian environment.
  • Prior related teaching background necessary. Specific work experience in teaching preschoolers a strong plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or minimum two years coursework related to the position (i.e., education, counseling, biblical studies) preferred.
  • Technology savvy in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, email & social media platforms.
  • Strong organizational Ability to provide a business mindset to the program.
  • Current CPR and First aid training a plus. 
  • Bilingual language skills also a plus.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: To perform the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, hear, and regularly communicate in writing and by phone or in person. Lifting to 30 pounds may be required on an occasional basis.

Salary18.00 Hour
