PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: To develop comprehensive ministry to Families that promotes biblical education, spiritual growth, and relational participation in joyful worship, fruitful ministry, and compassionate sharing of Jesus Christ as active members of FBCTyrone.



RESPONSIBILITIES: Education Ministry

1-Recruit & Train leaders to use researched & recommended curriculum chosen for Children’s Ministry             (preschool through youth) each year to accomplish the church’s vision, purposes and covenant.

2-Work with the Pastor to develop Wednesday night Discipleship curriculum for all ages that teaches             biblical concepts systematically to yield greater knowledge & application of God’s truths in life.

3-Further develop ongoing & new ministries for Families that directly impact Youth, Children &             Preschool Ministries for greater spiritual transformation among participants (& leaders).




1-Identify and employ various strategies for reaching, retaining and assimilating young families.

2-Provide vision & support to develop Family Ministries and events that connect community with             church to initiate new relationships, encourage participation, and channel Savior-sharing.

            (Easter event, VBS, Founder’s Day Parade, Fall Festival, Family Experience, etc.)

3-Direct and support all efforts for the healthy development of Youth, Children & Family ministries.

4-Train and empower Family members to share their faith in Jesus effectively with unbelieving peers.

5-Work with the Pastor to coordinate a variety of elements in Family Worship experiences each month.

6-Conduct worship services in Pastor’s absence.

7-Provide Pastoral, biblical counseling to church members & families as availability permits.

8-Conduct Pastoral services for funerals, weddings, & premarital counseling as availability permits.

9-Serve as an advocate for Christ, the church, & the SBC denomination in the community.



SUPERVISION & COMPENSATION: this part-time position is directly responsible to the Senior Pastor. This position requires a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week. Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience.
