Our contemporary service has quadrupled over the last 30 months with having more baptisms last year than any year the last 20 years. First Baptist Powder Springs has been serving our community for more than 184 years. While we are grateful for our history, we are even more excited about our future. Our mission is simple: Reaching People Toward the Savior, Jesus Christ.
Over the past two and a half years, God has blessed our church with significant growth. Attendance has nearly doubled, new families are joining every month, and we recently celebrated the most baptisms our church has experienced in more than twenty years. Located in one of the fastest-growing communities in metro Atlanta, we believe God has given us a tremendous opportunity to reach people with the Gospel.
We are searching for more than a worship leader: we are searching for a ministry leader. We are looking for someone who can provide vision for our contemporary worship ministry, develop volunteers and leaders, and help create worship environments where people encounter Jesus and respond to His Gospel.

Position Title: Contemporary Worship Pastor
Position Reports to: Executive Pastor of Ministries
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Worship Leadership & Planning
• Lead all contemporary worship services and events.
• Recruit, develop, and disciple a growing team of worship volunteers.
• Plan and coordinate all contemporary worship services and experiences.
• Lead worship rehearsals and Sunday morning run-throughs.
• Oversee Planning Center and worship ministry resources.
• Develop and equip worship leaders and volunteers.
• Lead student worship and special ministry events.
• Collaborate with pastors on worship service planning.
• Ensure accuracy of lyrics, media, and service elements.
• Steward and improve the contemporary worship environment.
• Manage worship ministry equipment, resources, and organization.
• Advance worship ministry vision aligned with church mission.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
• Minimum of five years of worship leadership experience in a local church setting.
• College degree preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated experience leading growing, contemporary worship services.
• Experience recruiting, training, and developing volunteer teams.
• Strong knowledge of Planning Center, ProPresenter, and worship ministry systems.
• Working knowledge of live audio, lighting, video, livestreaming, and production workflows.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
