Responsibilities and Duties

1. Lead all weekly programming within the music ministry, including planning, promotions and implementation.
2. Lead the choir and Praise Team rehearsals and Sunday and Wednesday worship services.
3. Be able to read sheet music.
4. Recruit, develop and equip members to minister through the worship ministry.
5. Oversee the technical aspects of the worship ministry, including staging, sound, lighting and aesthetics.
6. Prepare the annual budget for the music ministry to be approved by the Senior Pastor and the Budget and Finance Committee.
7. Attend staff meetings and retreats, contributing to the formation of the vision and strategy of the church.
8. Build and foster a relationship of trust and loyalty among the church staff.
9. Attend Deacon’s Meetings and Church Conference and provide monthly updates and status reports of any projects and activities.
10. Plan activities for the Senior Adult ministries which include one monthly activity at the church and one quarterly activity away from the church.
11. Develop and lead programs to promote the spiritual growth of Senior Adults.
12. Serve as ex-officio member of committees as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
13. Maintain all social media platforms and Calling Post communications.
14. Make hospital visits as directed by the Senior Pastor.
15. Conduct funeral services as needed.
16. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

Qualifications

1. Must be a born again Christian and called by God into the music ministry.
2. Must be an active member in good standing of a church.
3. Must have a college degree, music training and be seeking or continuing to seek or hold a theological degree.
4. Must have excellent people skills to lead the choir and Praise Team and church members in worship services.
5. Must be willing to submit to and pass a criminal background check at the expense of TBC.
6. Membership at TBC is required within one month of active employment.
7. Affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
