Job Title: Associate Pastor of Youth and Discipleship Ministries

Reports To: Lead Pastor and Elder Team
Status: Full-Time, Salaried
Location: Redeemer Church of Madison – Madison, GA

Position Summary

Redeemer Church of Madison exists to advance the gospel in our hearts and homes and to our neighbors and nations, for the glory of God. We are seeking a full-time Associate Pastor of Youth and Discipleship Ministries who will lead and shepherd a growing youth ministry and oversee adult discipleship efforts. This man will serve under the leadership of the Lead Pastor and Elder Team to help cultivate a culture of gospel-centered growth, theological depth, and relational discipleship across generations.

Primary Responsibilities

Youth Ministry (Approx. 70%)

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of youth ministry (grades 6–12) with a focus on gospel clarity, relational discipleship, and biblical teaching.
  • Disciple students through regular Bible teaching, small groups, mentoring, and personal relationship building.
  • Equip parents to take an active, intentional role in the spiritual formation of their children.
  • Recruit and develop adult leaders to shepherd students with theological depth and relational warmth.
  • Develop outreach strategies to reach the students at our middle and high school.
  • Plan and lead events, retreats, mission trips, and outreach opportunities that align with the church’s mission and values.
  • Cast vision for a thriving youth ministry that is rooted in Scripture, integrated into the broader church body, and multiplying disciples.

Discipleship Ministries (Approx. 30%)

  • Oversee and coordinate discipleship ministries including:
    • Family Groups (small group ministry)
    • Core Seminars (equipping classes)
    • Men’s and Women’s Ministries
    • RCM (Redeemer Church of Madison) Groups
  • Develop leaders by training and resourcing volunteers, teachers, and group leaders.
  • Assimilate newcomers into a discipleship journey.
  • Collaborate with staff and elders to provide a clear and cohesive discipleship pathway for all ages and stages of life.
  • Support church-wide efforts to foster biblical literacy, spiritual maturity, and relational connection.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Preach 4–5 times per year during Sunday worship gatherings.
  • Participate in pastoral care, church events, and regular staff meetings.
  • Contribute to the long-term vision of the church, with openness to future pastoral leadership development.

Qualifications

Spiritual & Personal

  • A man of godly character, meeting the biblical qualifications set forth in Scripture (1 Tim. 3:1–7; Titus 1:6–9).
  • A growing love for Jesus, the Church, and people of all ages.
  • Committed to expositional preaching, the sufficiency of Scripture, and the centrality of the gospel.
  • Joyfully aligned with the mission, culture, and doctrine of Redeemer Church of Madison.

Doctrinal & Theological

  • In full agreement with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
  • Comfortable in a church culture shaped by Reformed Baptist convictions, the doctrines of grace, and a Southern Baptist context.

Professional & Educational

  • Bachelor’s degree in Bible, theology, or ministry required; MDiv or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 2 years of ministry experience with youth and/or discipleship in a local church setting.
  • Strong communicator and teacher of Scripture.
  • Relationally warm, organized, self-motivated, and able to work collaboratively on a team.
